Mint Green Mishap.

DUH! It's Dora and Fee.

Today's fashion victim is Sarah Jessica Parker.

Love her, hate the dress. To start, this Dior Couture gown is WAY too much. It's understood that the oscars is very formal, however, Sarah seems to have mistaken the oscars for her wedding day.

Second, the top is way too revealing for a 43 year old. Don't get us wrong, Sarah looks great for her age, but the cleavage just seems wrong...she's practically exploding out the top of the dress!  She made the same mistake as Miley here: age INappropriate.

Third, the belt (what is it with bad belts?). Huh?! is all Dora and Fee can say. This dress totally could've done without.

Another Fasion Rule: Never wear too much of the same color. The belt seems to blend in with the rest of the gown; we feel as though, if she had to wear a belt, she could've made the outfit more interesting by changing the color. Nothing TOO drastic, but even just a sparkly silver one would've been better. Especially seeing as her earrings are the same awful mint green.

Overall, Sarah Jessica Parker's look for the night was a mint green mishap

An Ebony and Emerald Ensemble

DUH! It's Dora and Fee.

And Angelina Jolie is next on our list of stars worth talking about. To start, Angelina looked fabulous at the Oscars! She really nailed this look (as usual!).

She kept it simple in a black, Elie Saab gown and accessorized perfectly, remembering another of Dora and Fee's most important rules of fashion: when wearing a solid black, white or gray piece, stand out by incorporating a pop of color.

Because her flowing dress was a fairly plain solid, Angelina wore a huge bright green ring and matching earrings for her pop of color, completing her look using the perfect combination of ebony and emerald in her ensemble.

We can all agree her arm candy didn't hurt much either(; Brad goes well with just about everything.

Overall, Angelina just might have a spot in our top three BEST DRESSED AT THE OSCARS (which will be announced at the end of the week!).

That's tonight's report...

Ahh!?

DUH! It's Dora and Fee!
And we'd like to say that our first reaction to Miley Cyrus's look at the Oscars was:
AHH!?!?
If we were to list all the things that went wrong here,
the list would go on and on...and on and on.
So we picked out three major issues with the gown:
  1. Whoa, completely age INappropriate. Miley is sixteen years old and stars in a TV show aimed at an audience of girls ages 5 to 12. The cleavage shown off by the dress is just all wrong. Period.
  2. The tiers could be adorable - if the dress were two feet shorter. Unfortunately, the look is completely overwhelming; the tiers seem to be never ending, and, honestly, Miley looks like a silver fish.
  3. That belt. WHAT is that belt? Dora and Fee simply hate the belt on this dress. It's huge and out of place, and the bow is the ridiculous finishing touch on an already ridiculous gown.

Sorry for the severe criticism, Miley. We still love you. . . .

Here are the few things Miley managed to get right:
  • THANK GOD she avoided necklaces and bracelets of any sort. The dress already sparkles and shines more than it needs to.
  • The hair was a good choice also. Leaving her long curls loose would have sent Dora and Fee over the edge. Her sleek side swept bangs are just enough, thank you.
That's all for today;

Pink is Beautiful

DUH, it's Dora and Fee!
And yay! Yay for all the movies who won awards. Yay for Kate Winslet and Sean Penn, etc, etc, etc.
Anyway.
Our topic today is Natalie Portman, who looked absolutely stunning and caught our eye in her PINK dress.

The minute she stepped onto the stage she was a standout.  Her sparse jewels and pulled back hair complemented her Rodarte gown, which in turn complemented the gorgeous Natalie herself.

In this well-put together ensemble, Natalie is the epitome of one of Dora and Fee's most valuable lessons in fashion, that lesson being the lesson of pairing understated pieces with more elaborate ones. Natalie wears simple, understated jewelry with her bright dress, the bodice of which is an elaborate pattern of interwoven fabric and colored beads peeking through.

The Oscars Are Prime

DUH, it's Dora and Fee!

As we were saying, the Oscars are prime when it comes to fashion.
They're full of beautiful people dressed (for the most part) beautifully.
Unfortunately, that "for the most part" had to be slipped in because a few of our favorite celebrities MESSED UP.
So, anyway, we're going to dedicate this week to the Oscars.
Monday through Thursday we will post, once a day, our opinions on four of the looks, two good and two bad, that we noticed at the Oscars.  On Friday, TOP AND BOTTOM THREE WILL BE ANNOUNCED.
Have fun reading us!
